ZZZoff is a macOS menu-bar app for work that needs your Mac to stay awake. Enable it before you step away, set a battery floor, and connect Telegram for alerts and Claude Code tasks.

Lid-closed wakefulness
Keep your MacBook running with the lid shut, without an external display. A one-time administrator grant enables the sleep toggle.
Thermal auto-sleep
While ZZZoff is on, it checks macOS thermal pressure and requests sleep when the system reports a serious or critical state.
Your battery floor
Choose a cutoff from 5% to 50%. When a discharging battery reaches it, ZZZoff releases its keep-awake setting and sends an alert.
Claude Code in Telegram
Send a task to your connected bot. Claude Code runs it in the folder you select on your Mac, keeps the conversation context, and sends back its answer.
Alerts & offline watchdog
Get battery, thermal, and timer alerts. The watchdog also notifies you when Mac heartbeats stop for over three minutes and when they return.
Notch & session stats
See a session timer and detected coding app in the notch. Review recent awake sessions, duration, lowest battery level, and recorded thermal state.
Keep the Mac on a hard, ventilated surface. These controls help manage a running Mac; they do not guarantee a job will finish or prevent every battery or thermal problem.

Connect through the QR code in ZZZoff, choose a working folder, and enable the Telegram bridge. Plain text becomes a task in a dedicated Claude Code session.

Requires Claude Code CLI installed and signed in on the Mac, an eligible Claude account, an internet connection, and ZZZoff running with the bridge enabled. Claude access is separate from ZZZoff. This bridge uses its own session; it does not attach to an arbitrary open Terminal or Codex task.

- Lower background activity: a static compact-notch image, event-driven hot corners, and reduced lid polling.
- More conservative lid-motion and knock filtering, with a 30-second cooldown between knock responses.
- Earlier spoken status on lid close, with speech cancelled when the lid opens.
- Telegram reliability improvements: saved pending replies, retry handling, explicit CLI errors, bounded process output, and task cancellation handling.
- Manual keep-awake preference preserved across app restarts, subject to battery and thermal controls.

How do I connect Telegram?
- Open ZZZoff on your Mac and go to Alerts → Connect Telegram. Scan the QR code or open its link, then tap Start in Telegram.
- Install Claude Code CLI and sign in on the Mac using
claude auth login. - In ZZZoff’s Main tab, choose the working folder and permissions, then enable “Claude Code via Telegram”. Enable keep-awake if you want to close the lid.
- Send a short task to @zzzoff_bot and wait for its answer.
The bot accepted my task but didn’t answer
An acknowledgement means the task is queued, not finished. Check that the Mac is awake and online, ZZZoff is running, and the Telegram bridge is enabled. Run claude auth status on the Mac to check CLI sign-in. Use /status in the bot to check its last reported state.
Which bot commands can I use?
/help lists the commands. Use /status, /cancel, /new, /goal, /btw, and /brainstorming for tasks and context; /sessions for a session overview; /voice on or /voice off for spoken replies. Scheduled tasks through /loop are not implemented.
Does this replace Claude Remote Control?
ZZZoff’s Telegram bridge runs a dedicated Claude Code CLI session on your Mac. Anthropic’s Remote Control uses Claude’s own web or mobile interface. They are separate paths; Telegram does not mirror every session you have open.
What permissions does ZZZoff need?
Lid-closed keep-awake needs a one-time administrator grant limited to switching the system’s sleep-disabled flag on and off. Knock detection needs microphone access. Telegram task execution uses the working folder and Claude permissions you select; the folder selection itself is not a filesystem sandbox.
What stays local. What gets sent.
On your Mac
Settings and awake-session history are stored locally. Optional knock detection analyzes microphone input on-device; it does not record or upload that audio.
Watchdog and Telegram
While the app is running, its default watchdog receives heartbeats and relay metadata, including the selected working directory, task status, and detected Claude session summaries. This reporting is separate from the Telegram bridge switch. Connected Telegram features send alerts and task replies through Telegram and the watchdog service. Task prompts and results are stored in the server’s delivery queue.
Claude and voice services
Tasks sent to the bridge are processed by Claude Code under your Claude account. Files it accesses depend on the task and selected permissions. The shared bot uses OpenAI services for voice transcription, speech generation, and session-summary text. Sending a voice message to the bot is different from local knock detection.
Controls
Switch off “Claude Code via Telegram” to stop taking new tasks. Use /cancel for a running bridge task and /stop to disconnect the bot; disconnecting is not a promise to erase prior task history. Quit ZZZoff to stop its heartbeat reporting. An advanced option lets you use your own bot for app notifications; it does not replace the shared server’s task-processing infrastructure.
